artist bio:

c-soul

In an effort to further feed his music habit, C-Soul was a project started up 4 years ago working with vocalist Leah Rasmussen (Bedrock), Mula keyboard supremo Jimmy Day and sax man Johnny Tarr (Black Grass/ Fat Tuesday/ Jam Donut). With releases on DiY Discs, Suspect Package, Is This, Shelter, Plastic City, Drugsex and Audio Expressions so far, other links with like minds around the world has resulted in interest from labels like Flyagaric Trax (Funky Transport) and Evasive. Brighton label Stompa Music is also set to release further C-Soul music this year and remember to watch this space for further news on the introduction of a live drummer (Engine Room's Oli Clarke) and new vocalists to the show. Over the last year, the C-Soul live show has moved crowds at The Telegraph and the 333 Club (both in London), Audio, the Pressure Point and Concorde 2 in Brighton as well as Stockholm, Sweden and Chamonix, France. Magnus Asberg's integral position as part of Positive Sound System has also seen the C-Soul roadshow tested in front of some of the most discerning crowds in dance music, the free party faithful.

And, for that little something extra, Magnus and C-Soul have been signed up by Relive in Scandanavia. This mobile phone server broadcasts live sets to Finland, Denmark, Sweden and Norway straight to your handset - there really is no excuse for not tuning in to the C-Soul sounds.

The latest release of C-Soul music is something big. Out on Plastic City, "Escape From The Madness" was recorded with Rob Pearson and the one, the only, Robert Owens, and comes with remixes handled by Inland Knights and German heavyweights, Timewriter or Terry Lee Brown. While all these mixes include the full vocal, there is also a less vocally inclined Demarkus Lewis (Grin Music) version that has been signed to Shelter Records out of New York. You can also guarantee there will be more collaborations with Rob Pearson (Online Studios, Evasive, Drugsex, Wrong, Reverbrations) and the boys have also started their own new label - Audio Tactics - specifically designed for their bigger profile projects. The future will see a C-Soul track coming out on Rob's Drugsex record label, work with vocalist Osaro, an EP with Digs from DiY and a remix project with Schmoov!
